Prayer on a Full Moon

Poem © 2013 by Joyce Mason

Like grace after meals
I thank the universe
for a belly full
of this lunar month

seeds of new start-ups
growing inside me
bloating me with new promise
fulfillment

I think about what to name you
babies of the Moon Mother
offspring of my wild intuition
knowing
that you join a family
fertile with wild abandon
my long cycle of Moonchildren
silver balloons
that when it comes to creativity
have no strings.

lovely idea with a poetry month, Joyce.

here one of my favourites, Erich Fried's Was es ist, in English.

What it is

It is nonsense
says reason
It is what it is
says love

It is misfortune
says calculation
It is nothing but pain
says fear
It is hopeless
says insight
It is what it is
says love

It is ridiculous
says pride
It is careless
says caution
It is impossible
says experience
It is what it is
says love

Glad you're enjoying Poetry Month, Mads--and thanks for this wonderful share! I certainly relate to it as my own experience of love.
