Prayer on a New Moon

Sun and Moon

mating in the sky

Moon pregnant

with new beginnings:

Help me develop my embryonic seeds

to their fullest potential.

Infuse my month

with creativity and the thrill

of waxing my projects

and myself

to fullness.

Point me to the most meaningful wisdom

where you fall in my chart.

Rejuvenate the part of my life

that repeats your cosmic code

celestial DNA

that grows me

an inch taller

into what I am becoming

in this brief gestation

of my many Moons.

Sunset Prayer

Fading Sun,
 bathe my tired body

in orange-gold pools

of overused Mars

Release my drooping head

from Mercury still heavy

on my mind

help me help him

go from quick- to slowsilver

Let Venus

tickle my skin

spots of sweet memories

of love's everyday moments

highlights of my day

Send Jupiter on a long a hike

from big gestures

to draw me
into my inner journey

Send Saturn away till tomorrow

and Uranus

enemies of sleep

If Pluto comes calling

tell him to meet Neptune

in my dreams

to leave me alone

in these holy hours of daily wind-down

Bless me with
TV films and night movies

God and Goddess

of a day well spent

while I wade into your waters

melt with another day

into the ocean of forever.

Midday Meditation

I pause to look up:

ask for help

connect

with the conditions

in the sky.

Sunny, partly cloudy,

rain, snow, sleet …

It’s not the content of the sky

that matters

only my relationship to it

though umbrellas, sunscreens

and boots

speak well of my friendship

with Mercury.

Sunrise Prayer

 Sweet morning

rising from darkness

like steam off a hot tub

soothe me in your gentle stretch

coax every muscle and mindset

alive

with no alarm

Perhaps I’ll see Venus Rising

an omen

or muse on today’s transits

totally without terror

or if I really follow the cycles

of earth and sky

I’ll be a gradual process

morphing from dark to muted

to bright colors

living as loudly as possible

dawn’s whisper.
