Also, each sign has a continuum of meanings from those we usually like to those that usually aren't considered a good time. For example, Chiron in Pisces in easy-flow aspects (trine, sextile) to many other planets in one's chart may be expressed far more on the upside of Chiron in that sign--a sense of oneness, being highly spiritual, or a refined artistic nature. Those with squares, oppositions and other more "stressful" aspects to the same planet in the same sign (continuing with Chiron in Pisces as an example) may struggle more with the tougher issues of boundaries, substance abuse, etc. Each planet and sign have a range of meaning, and in the OPP series, I've attempted to present the stumbling blocks and some hints on how to handle them or see them in the larger picture. That way, even those who have a harder time with them can find a path to the upside, just like those who are blessed with the "easier" aspects natally. One of our readers has a great expression/concept that you can make squares "trine out." In other words, we aren't stuck with that planet/sign energy being difficult for us forever. As we grow, we learn to handle the harsher side and it rounds us out to express the more life-enhancing potentials of our planetary profile.

If you're interested in participating in my Chiron book research, I'd love to have your experience on your Chiron transits to itself. I, too, did not find my upper square very dramatic, except for the fact that I did see progress on integrating the major issues expressed in my Chiron placement. It was much more subtle than the previous opposition and first square. If you're interested in being involved, write me: joyce [at] joycemason.com. I have Pluto conjunct North Node in the second house (some charts show it as first) - Pluto at 5 degrees Virgo, North Node at 3 degrees Virgo. I have Chiron Conjunct South Node, Chiron at six degrees Pisces. I was told by an astrologer that I am a Uranian by nature - Uranus is square my Sun, trine my Venus, Sextile my Moon. I have had trouble with Neptune - but neptune is square my Mars and my Jupiter - and Mars is on my ascendent, Jupiter is on my descendent close to exact conjunctions (8 degrees Leo is my ascendent). Your articles are a God-Send (Goddess-Send). Your voce is definitely bella when it's giving me those nice compliments. :) I may have to downsize the frequency of blogging for awhile in 2011 while I tackle the full-length Chiron book, but I can't imagine not blogging here. It's home. Thank you for taking time to tell me it's important to you.Joyce Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13462878902674014180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7881668285026141614.post-89561711326792360752010-11-24T15:57:39.467-06:002010-11-24T15:57:39.467-06:00love your Blog - please keep it up!

This is another "keeper" for my research, if you're willing. It totally puts a face on what our wounding is for and how we alleviate the pain by "offering it up" through our work. I'm not only so glad to have been part of your making sense of it; I'm grateful in return for how much I've learned myself in that process. You have very keen knowledge of both astrology and human dynamics. If anyone wants "Chiron in a capsule," your comment contains it. Thank you. Our tribe on these pages needs you!Joyce Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13462878902674014180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7881668285026141614.post-32730780485151536172010-11-23T21:32:06.069-06:002010-11-23T21:32:06.069-06:00Hi Joyce – My Chiron return was both painful and h...Hi Joyce – My Chiron return was both painful and humbling, thanks to several other major transits that occurred simultaneously. Adding insult to injury, I felt let down and disillusioned (once again) by the callousness and carelessness I encountered during my interactions with certain professionals within the medical community. After several years, my “ailment” naturally resolved itself, although at the age of 51, I was left with a lingering yet invisible physical disability that made it impossible for me to work. My 6th house Chiron in Aquarius felt useless, different from everyone else, and without a place in the world. Or so I thought.

As old doors closed, new ones opened and eventually I realized I had the ability to channel healing energy through my hands. If anyone had told me (former office manager, extraordinaire) that I’d someday be a “healer”, I’d have laughed (I think I did laugh when an astrologer once suggested it). The thought never even occurred to me. Yet just as you’ve mentioned, the more healing I do for others, the less “disabled” I feel. My own discomfort lessens to the point of sometimes being non-existent, relative to how often I use my gifts. Even more importantly, I feel as if I’m finally becoming the person I was meant to be. And my experiences served a greater purpose in that they helped me to understand the feelings of isolation, uselessness, and confusion that others face as they move through their own sometimes painful healing challenges (Chiron opposes Uranus in the 12th). Probably most ironic is the fact that my physical challenges involve the use of my shoulders and arms (which are attached to my hands – hahaha).

Chiron represents the missing piece of the astrological puzzle I could never figure out. I remember reading somewhere how retrograde Chiron often doesn’t come into its own until after the “return”, so maybe that’s why it took me so long! I appreciate the role you’ve played (and it’s been a BIG one) in helping me make sense of it all. Thanks, Joyce! There’s lots of good information here.

Sorry for the long comment. I always hope others will benefit from my sharing my experiences.LBnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7881668285026141614.post-78926324664610915242010-11-23T20:05:03.076-06:002010-11-23T20:05:03.076-06:00Hi - I'd be honored. It's a story of pain/gain, as I'd expect it to be with those two planets entwined. You definitely got Chiron's lesson about "making lemonade out of lemons." I'm going to be collecting anecdotes for my Chiron book--more on this in an upcoming post. I hope you'll consider letting this be one of them. It's so illustrative. Using faith to overcome difficult situations sounds like the ultimate Chiron/Jupiter conjunction. Thank you so much for sharing.Joyce Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13462878902674014180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7881668285026141614.post-81595435878955501302010-11-23T06:07:00.770-06:002010-11-23T06:07:00.770-06:00Hi Joyce. Just wanted to thank you for the article...Hi Joyce. Just wanted to thank you for the article. Natal Chiron 8' pisces conj Jup, and both retrograde, so those two energies are entwined. And yet I'm not a horse person ... Just for fun I checked the Chiron aspects you mentioned. And it was really interesting. The first square happened when I was 22 - I finally accepted my mother just didn't care about me. It was hard, but also liberating. I was free. The opp happened when I had something published for the first time. It also coincided with a very difficult period in my life, but the writing was a lifeline. The second square happened when I couldn't get anything published at all. Very hard, but I kept at it. Now I'm in a very good place, I make my living as a writer, so I'm curious to see what the next transit brings on. When I was young I was bitter and resentful, and only when I realised I could "change my mind" and turn the negative to a positive did good things start to happened. I ca see now that it's been a journey towards faith for me, the more I trust, the easier things become. I can even see this reflected in my books. The first children's horror book I wrote was a straight forward ghost story, the last one (this year) is actually about using faith to overcome bad situations - and I didn't see that until the story was finished. Very twilight zonish ... NatalieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
