Spring Equinox Poem: “Birthday Party”

Seeds

push through

the birth canal of Gaia;

end winter's hard labor.

The Sun hands out

flower petals rolled up as cigars.

The Moon mops her brow,

midwife to the season
where Mars leads off

Venus follows

and Mercury

rounds out the chorus

of springing, singing signs.

Chant Aries, Taurus, Gemini!
